Spread among roughly 27 buildings, there are 71 all-gender restrooms on the Slippery Rock University campus. Recently, the Social Justice Committee requested $3,386.60 to fund a pilot program to provide free menstrual products in 20 of such restrooms.
The pilot program is defined as "an initial small-scale implementation that is used to prove the viability of a project idea [...] to manage the risk of a new idea and identify any deficiencies before substantial resources are committed."
It was argued that these products should not only be limited to educational buildings on campus, but also to other buildings such as Boozel Dining Hall, which students frequent.
The Finance Committee decided on an allocation of $1,104.60 for ten sanitary product dispensers, $655.20 for tampons and $522.20 for sanitary napkins.
